This was one of the first images I captured after moving to Mammoth Lakes in 2021. I had my eye on this particular river bend for a couple years. However, I wanted to capture it mid-winter, as the grass here is red year round, and gives a feel of autumn and winter clashing. 
 
At the end of January, we finally had a good snow In the Eastern Sierra after a long string of mild and dry conditions. I waited a couple weeks afterwards for these conditions to line up, but It was just as I hoped for.
