The Weminuche in the San Juan Mountains is the largest Wilderness area in the state of Colorado. The effort to travel into the area keeps most photographers away. But, this is the terrain that motivates me, where I have to put in extra work & planning into captiuring an image. I stumbled across this composition while strolling the Colorado Trail. What really drew me to love this, besides the obvious peaking fall color, was the visibility of the Animas River below, adding a leading line through the bottom of the scene. It really helps to draw your eyes through the scene up to the beautifl jagged peaks behind.
