As beautiful as Vernal Falls in Yosemite is, I've always had a hard time shooting it. So when I had the opportunity to photograph it full again, I knew I needed to find a way to capture its power. I was able to find this lovely cascade lower down to add to the drama. I had calculated that at about 10AM, sun would poke around the cliff just enough to add a dash of light to the scene. 30 minutes before the sun poked through, some beautiful dark clouds began to develop, and stuck around long enough to yield me this dramatic image.
