On the night of May 10 into the early morning of May 11, (also the night befor my other image "Emerald Bay Norhtern Lights") earth was blessed with a rare extreme geomagnetic storm, making the northern lights visible to many that don't normally see them. Instead of heading north, I decided to capitalize on seeing them right here at home. I headed to Mono Lake in hopes of capturing them with a reflection. It was breezy for over half the night. At around 1:30AM, the wind finally died off, and revealed this incredible refletion as pillars danced across the sky. Never in my life would I have expected to see the northern lights so good at this low of a latitude. Needless to say, i'll remember this night forever.
