A curved pine tree perfectly frames Tenaya Lake in Yosemite below. I had scouted this frame about a year before this image, and wanted to prioritize photographing it, but a early season snowfall closed Tioga Pass for the season in October. 

Ideally, shooting this frame as late as possible will give you the best light as the sun angle moves further south as you progress through autumn. I was able to get this image about a week before Tioga Pass closed for the 2022-2023 winter.
