The Bristlecone Pine Forest in the White Mountains of California has always been an incredibly fascinating place for me. These trees are thousands of years old, and every time I photograph them, I can't help but think about all these trees have seen in their lifetime, and this night was no exception.
Pictured here is a lenticular cloud, which is rare if you do not live on the Lee Side of a mountain range. Here in the Sierra & White Mountains, they are fairly common, and often resemble the shape of a "UFO".
This cloud was the perfect pairing for this tree I was photographing, as both the cloud and the tree appear to be "twisting", and created an exceptional mood to my composition. To date, this is still my favorite image I have captured here.
