This area of Southern California near Idyllwild has alwasy intrigued me. Mount San Jacinto sits nearly 11,000 above sea level within close proximity of the ocean, so the lower elevations also get the marine layer If it is deep enough. I had eyed this Ridgeline along the PCT, knowing that if the Marine layer was deep enough, it would begin to flow over into the desert. It was just deep enough to poke between the peaks, but not shroud the over, and the fresh snow from a recent storm was just the cherry on top.
