Presented here is my most proud image of my photography career; a lightning strike and a rainbow behind 3 wild mustangs/horses in Eastern California. These horses reside about 25 miles northeast of where I live.I saw this storm training and re-forming all afternoon. We decided to go out there and capture, and the results were nothing short of incredible. I shot over 2,500 images in just 2 hours, and this was the most magical of them all. I had my lightning trigger on my camera shooting at fast shutter speeds handheld, just praying a strike would come down. Sure enough, we were blessed with a few, although I was not able to capture the others. A shot like this would have been virtually impossible without my lightning trigger. I feel extremely grateful to have capture this once in a lifetime scene.
